What is the YMS?
The Youth Mobility Scheme UK visa is a scheme designed for nationals of certain countries who wish to live and work in the UK.
This scheme offers many benefits, such as:
- You can live in the UK for up to 2 years
- You can leave and re-enter the UK at any time during your stay
- You can work (with a few restrictions)

WORK
With a Youth Mobility Scheme, you have the possibility to work in most jobs and/or be self-employed.
This visa also allows you to have multiple jobs within the UK (that includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).
Are there any work restrictions?
- You cannot work as a professional sportsperson also includes coaching
- You cannot work as a doctor or dentist in training, unless you have a degree in medicine or dentistry from a UK institution that is a UK recognised
If you are happy to take part in an unpaid work experience or are looking for some part-time work, an Internship or Volunteering can also be an option.
