Safeguarding Policy for the Young Learners

Our Supervision ratios

Child (12-15 years old) supervision ratio

Supervision ratios for these groups must be one group leader to every 15 students. Measures such as staggering break times, allocating such groups to floors where no adult classes are held and thorough student and group leader inductions will take place to ensure student safety.

Young Adult(16-17 years old)
supervision ratio

Young Adult supervision ratio would ideally be 1 staff member for every 15 students but where possible 1 staff member to every 10 students would be best practice.

Specialist Qualifications

Our staff undergo regular training on delivering lessons and leading activities for under 18s. All staff members complete the Safeguarding Level 1 training course and hold an enhanced DBS check.
