If you ask me, that makes a lot of sense.

Judging from my experience, I think that when working for an international company, being able to speak English is a must. You can’t do your job properly if you don’t understand it, right?! Also, good language skills can lead to a promotion. Who wouldn’t want that??? When your boss will see that you are fluent in English, he or she will probably trust you more and give you more and more complex tasks. It gives you and opportunity to develop yourself.

Working for an international company is a big deal, and as we all know English is a global language so in my opinion it is just for our best to learn it when applying for this kind of job.
